The occupants of the home were evacuating when the fire department arrived. It was unknown at the time if there were more people inside.
Firefighters encountered fire in the second floor and attic of the home, necessitating a response from additional fire personnel. Firefighters got the fire under control and confirmed no one else was home.
The home sustained heavy fire, smoke and water damage to the second floor and attic. Crews placed salvage covers on the first floor to preserve belongings there, but the first floor and basement still took on moderate water damage.
